Preliminary Coloring Book Sketches

For the production of our coloring book, Alisa and I have been tasked with the job of creating planning sketches for how the characters will look, the scenes, formatting, etc. Here are a few sketches that I worked on:

These are very rough sketches that we are supposed to base the finished coloring book off of––preliminary sketches, if you would. We can experiment with different techniques and elements, which will eventually help us when drawing the more detailed sketches. Also, I was able to determine what kind of body figure/image would be too difficult to draw multiple times, and was able to simplify it into something that still looks good, but is not too hard. Additionally, even if the storyline changes, the rough sketches can still be useful because we still have a general idea of what each scene is supposed to look like. I think that doing this will be very beneficial for us in the future.
